Mission Statement

The mission of the Public Works Department is to provide outstanding public services for the citizens of Valencia County, our visitors and our neighboring towns and villages while maintaining a superior infrastructure, guaranteeing a clean and safe environment as well as sustaining a high quality of life.

Responsibilities

The Valencia County Public Works Department is responsible for Tierra Bonita, Road Maintenance, Fleet Maintenance, Environmental Health, Building and Parks. This pivotal department works hand-in-hand with the Code Enforcement Division and GIS.

Road Department

The Road Department maintains 458.475 miles of roadway within the unincorporated areas of Valencia County. Maintenance includes patching, grading, tree trimming, sweeping and special projects.

Building & Grounds Department

The Building & Grounds Department oversees 45+ buildings throughout Valencia County. These include Fire Departments, Community Centers, Senior Centers and administrative buildings. 

Solid Waste Division

The Solid Waste Division consists of Conejo Transfer Station, Valencia Landfill, Keep Valencia County Clean and Beautiful and Mosquito Spraying.

Fleet Department

The Fleet Department oversees all county fleet vehicles
